This was such a fun project!
My days of actually doing anthem rock in front of a large audience were never more than a kid’s dream. Although we did play to an impressive herd of prize Holsteins at a state fair one time. Astounding as that was, I never had the chance to play arena rock.
Then 2026 comes sauntering in, bad to the bone, a little full of itself, and very long on promises. And I remember this song from back in my catalog. Metronomic, off E minor, simple words, fun tune. I think to myself, what if…?
Well, what if, indeed. My little place in the Albanian wilds becomes the Glitch Taverna. Some festival footage from the promenade collected on my phone, some long-forgotten B-roll. The faceless band comes together for one memorable performance.
I love the guy in the show footage audience that keeps turning around and scanning the crowd. He could be the face of southern Albania.
God bless the Illyrians - a pretty chill bunch!
primalbeet will release its second album in the next couple weeks.
Note to the haters: I don’t care. No, really, I don’t. All art is stolen. All culture is stolen. Neither you nor I have ever had a single unique thought. Ever. If you don’t like what I’m doing, don’t listen.
Bad Sign
Some say your fate Is told in the stars Some say that time Is not really yours I was born under a bad, bad sign On the day of the sun in the evening time Nine swords were drawn into the pantomime It was a bad, bad, bad, bad sign! Down by the ocean incoming tide Strangers approaching, two worlds collide Hurricane lantern It was a bad, bad, bad, bad sign! Nine swords were drawn in the evening time Strangers approaching incoming tide Hurricane lantern It was a bad, bad sign! I was born under a bad, bad sign On the day of the sun in the evening time Nine swords were drawn into the pantomime It was a bad, bad, bad, bad sign!
